Thomas John Ellis

Thomas John Ellis, 71, of Murrells Inlet, SC passed away on April 14, 2019 at his home. He was born June 16, 1947 in Madison, WI,  son of John “Jack” and Donaldene “Dee” Ellis. He is preceeded in death by his father.

In addition to his mother he is survived by his life partner Rhonda Hyde of Murrells Inlet; son Jeffrey Ellis and his spouse David of San Francisco, CA; daughter Laurel Garcia and her spouse Juan Carlos of Monkton, MD;  sister Nancy Rossi and her life partner Ron of San Diego CA; brother Timothy Ellis and his spouse Deb of Sun City Center, FL; Rhonda’s children Amber Rainey of San Diego, CA and Chadson Barton of Austin, TX; and ten grandchildren.

Thomas was a graduate of the University of Wisconsin and a devout “Badgers” fan. He was a passionate lifelong golfer and enjoyed playing on some the finest courses in the world and was a member of the TCP golf course. Thomas was an avid sports fan and loved the Yankees. He was also a cigar and scotch aficionado.

A celebration of Thomas’s life will be held 11:00 AM, Thursday April 18, 2019 at Burroughs Funeral Home, 3558 Old Kings Highway, Murrells Inlet, SC 29576.
