Sharon Bunny (Butler) Spaleta

Sharon “Bunny” Butler Spaleta passed away on the morning of Saturday February 2, 2019 at her home in Myrtle Beach, SC. She was 69. Bunny was born in Columbia, SC - the first of seven children to Harry and Vondelle Butler (deceased). She graduated from Olympia High School and worked for many years for the Bell Telephone Company. She loved yard work, gardening, dancing, singing and music, and playing Scrabble. She was a formidable Trivial Pursuit player. She was also a loud and faithful Gamecocks fan. She always found great joy in helping family and others when needed.

Following retirement, Bunny devoted her life to caring for her grandchildren-Jaden, Kassidy and Jacob Bellamy - who brought her so much joy. She is survived by her three grandchildren, her daughter Sara Spaleta and her son Jeffery Spaleta (Karen). In addition, she leaves her brothers Ben Butler (Sheri), Larry Butler (Teresa), Tim Butler ( Dee), Russ Butler (Wanda), Chris Butler (Corinne), her sister Barri Butler Sweet (Rob) and many nieces and nephews who will all miss her very much.

A celebration of Bunny’s life will be held on February 9, 2019 at 3 pm at Burroughs Funeral Home located at 3558 Old Kings Highway in Murrells Inlet, SC. The family will receive friends from 2 pm until the time of the service. In lieu of flowers, the family asks that donations be made to the Sharon B Spaleta Memorial Fund at Wells Fargo Bank to benefit her grandchildren.
