Raymond A. Schnell, 92, of Murrells Inlet, South Carolina surrounded by his loving family was called home, joining his family in the Lord; he joins his wife Alice Bobbi Schnell of 68 years, son, Tony; brother, Thomas Schnell; sisters; Agnes, Marguerite and Mary. Ray is survived by his loving son, James Schnell, beloved grandchildren, Jessica (David), Jennifer (Chris), Jason (Isabel) & Juliee as well as 8 great grandchildren. Devoted brother, Jerome Schnell; sisters; Dorothy Gerson, Elizabeth Herbert, Jeannine (Craig) Hoffbeck and Josephine Becker; also his daughter in-law, Bonnie Schnell, and sister in-law, Jeanne Viera. He also leaves his stepchildren, Master Sgt. Michael Diuguid of the US Marine Corps, Deacon Nathaniel (Fannie) Diuguid and Amherst VA, Beatrice (Billy) Bynum of Lynchburg, VA & Brianna. Ray is also survived by his loving and devoted wife, Eula Diuguid Schnell of Murrells Inlet; as well as a large, loving, extended family, many loving nieces & nephews; and supportive friends and neighbors.
Mr. Schnell enlisted in the Army in 1952, and served 2 years. Upon his honorable discharge, Ray was asked to take a leap into civilian life in the NSA Government. He proudly retired after 32 years of dedicated service.
A Celebration of Ray’s life will be held on Friday June 7, 2019 at 2:00PM at St. Michael Catholic Church, 572 Cypress Ave. Garden City, SC 29576. Inurnment will immediately follow in the church columbarium.
At the request of the family, memorial contributions in Ray's name may respectfully be made in lieu of flowers to St. Vincent DePaul Food Pantry or to St. Michael's Conference, both at, 572 Cypress Ave. Garden City, SC 29576
