Rafael “Ray” Morales, 68, of Myrtle Beach, SC, and formerly of New Jersey, passed away on Tuesday, October 1, 2019 at home with his loving family beside him.
Ray was born in Arecibo, Puerto Rico on October 23, 1950 and was predeceased by his parents, 2 siblings and a grandson.
Ray proudly served as a police officer for the Perth Amboy Police Department for over 28 years. He was also a truly devoted NY Yankees fan. Everyone who spent time with him was touched by his kindness, gentleness, humor, sincerity and most of all, his contagious smile that will continue to shine bright from Heaven. Ray threw himself into everything he did with tremendous energy. He was one of a kind, a wonderful man who did any and everything for his family and friends, and our hearts will be broken until we meet again, beyond all pain and tears. Goodbye, our dear, sweet husband, father, pop pop, brother, uncle and brother in law, until our tears are wiped away when we hug you in Heaven.
In addition to his beloved wife Lucy of Myrtle Beach, SC, Ray is survived by 5 children, Denise Cuas (Rauly), Steven Morales (Christine), Rafael Morales, Jr., Robert Morales (Damaris) and Nicholas Morales (Sara); 4 siblings, Willie Morales, Eliades Ramos (Eddie), Samuel Morales (Vicky) and Evelyn Morales; and 9 grandchildren and many nieces and nephews.
The family would like to extend a special thank you to the Amedisys Home Health and MSA Hospice for their kindness and care.
