Mimi Hunter Obituary

Miriam S. Hunter, 71, passed away peacefully Saturday, May 4, 2019 at her Pawleys Island
home surrounded by her loving family.

Born in Norfolk, VA she was the daughter of the late Robert and Peggy Sagnette. Mimi was
known for being upbeat, joyful and fun loving as well as being a spirited and spiritual angel.
She enjoyed walking, playing tennis, gardening and especially spending time with her family
and friends. Mimi was a member of Precious Blood of Christ Catholic Church where she was
active in various church ministries. She was a graduate of the University of Georgia where
she was a member of the Kappa Delta Sorority. On August 31, 1974 she married Hamp Hunter
at St. Jude Catholic Church in Atlanta, GA. As Mimi and Hamp’s family began to grow they
found themselves moving from Atlanta, GA to Nashville, TN to Dallas, TX and to Greensboro,
SC. They are now blessed with two beautiful daughters and their wonderful husbands and two
precious grandkids. During her year long illness with cancer, Mimi was always filled with faith
and always maintained her kind, sweet and positive attitude. In addition to her parents she is
predeceased by her sweet sister in law, Diane Woosley, who was more like a sister and even
shared the same birthday.

Survivors include her loving husband of 44 years, Hamp Hunter; daughters, Molly Fewster and
her husband Adam of New Canaan, CT; Catherine Brown and her husband Tate of Pawleys
Island; granddaughter, Hunter Fewster; grandson, Hampton Brown; brothers Bob Sagnette and
his wife Anne of Towson, MD; brother Scott Sagnette of Roanoke, VA; loving nieces Lindsay,
Mary Steuart, Amy, Melissa, and many cousins.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 11:oo AM Saturday, May 11, 2019 at Precious Blood of
Christ Catholic Church with Fr. Paul MacNeil celebrant. Interment will follow in the church
columbarium, then a reception for all at the church Activity Center.

In lieu of flowers the family requests that donations be made in Mimi’s name to Pancreatic
Cancer Research at www.pancan.org or to Precious Blood of Christ Catholic Church, 1633
Waverly Rd, Pawleys Island, SC 29585.

A special thank you to family and friends of our angel. Plus the church families at Precious
Blood of Christ Catholic Church and St. Pius X Catholic Church. The amazing medical
professionals from her initial treatments to hospice care. Her doctors and nurses were truly
called to their profession. Mimi was often referred by them as their MLP, “Most Loved
Patient.”
