Michael Melvin Watford

Michael Melvin Watford, 72, passed away on Sunday June 9, 2019 at his home in Surfside Beach, South Carolina. He was born on December 2, 1946 in Hartsville, South Carolina to the late William Watford & Magnolia Boan Watford King.

Along with his parents, Mike is preceded in passing by his brother, James Watford.

Mike proudly served his country in the United States Army. Upon his honorable discharge, Mike was able to enjoy the finer things in life.

Left to cherish Mike’s memory are his beloved wife, Mrs. Geraldine “Geri” Caulder Watford of Surfside Beach; their daughter, Angel Turner and her husband, Mickey of Myrtle Beach; granddaughters, Mia, Mailey & Maddie Turner; brothers, Richard Watford and his wife, Joyce, Billy Watford and his wife, Gina & Sammy Watford, all of Chicago; sisters, Patricia Fallon and her husband, Tom & Maryann Mason and her husband, Bob, also all of Chicago; as well as several nieces & nephews; a large, loving, extended family; and many supportive friends and neighbors.

A Celebration of Mike’s life will be held at 10:00am Thursday, June 13, 2019 at Burroughs Funeral Home, 3558 Old King Hwy, Murrells Inlet, SC 29576. Burial will follow at 2:00pm at Florence National Cemetery with military honors. The family will receive friends from 9:00-10:00am prior to service time. 

At the request of the family, memorial contributions may respectfully be made in Mike’s name to the MUSC Children’s Hospital, 165 Ashley Ave. Charleston, SC 29425.
