In addition to her parents she is preceded in death by a sister, Ruth Berry Dixon.

Surviving are her loving husband of twenty five years, Lynn J. Hunt of Murrells Inlet; mother-in-law, Alice F. Hunt “Mom” of Murrells Inlet; sisters, Ann Smith (Lee) of Augusta, GA, Delaine Plowden (Carroll) of Aiken, SC; daughters, Beverly Griggs-Koons of Myrtle Beach, Cynthia Hunt-Jaehne (Sean) of Washington, DC, Amy E. Mary began her work experience as a medical administration specialist. She then was hired by DuPont at the Savannah River Nuclear site, where she was promoted up the ladder to Nuclear Training Instructor retiring in 1998.  Moving to Myrtle Beach in 1998 along with her husband, Mary helped establish Sentry Security, a hurricane protection business which grew to employ 15 people, Mary served as chief financial officer before retiring again in 2009.  She was an avid member of the Grand Strand Tennis League, playing on numerous competitive teams. Full of southern charm and accent she brightened every court she played on and every room she entered and left all happy and feeling better about themselves.   A late interest in music led to her starting piano lessons at the age of 60.  Mary was a devoted student of the word of God and knew that Jesus was her Lord and Savior. To enrich her knowledge of the bible, Mary began studying Hebrew in 2016. She was an active member of Pawleys Island Community Church.
