Marvin Kinley Gattis, Sr., 57, passed away peacefully Tuesday, January 1, 2019 at his Myrtle Beach residence.

Born in Loris, SC, Marvin was the son of the late Carl and Minnie Gattis. He was a Jack of all Trades and an excellent cook. Marvin was a tough bird who was not afraid to do or try anything in spite of his inability to see well. Front porch sitting was his favorite past time and he loved The Andy Griffith show. In addition to his parents, Marvin is predeceased by his brother, Joseph Harold Gattis.

Survivors include his loving wife of 25 years, Sandra Thompkins Gattis; children, Victoria Gattis and Marvin Kinley Gattis, Jr. both of Myrtle Beach; brothers, Marcus Mark Gattis of Tabor City; Carl Wayne Gattis of Loris; sisters, Wendy Masterson of Illinois; Wanda Howington of Conway; nieces and nephews.

At this time a private memorial service will be held.
