Marie Theresa (Peat) Strever

Marie Theresa (Peat) Strever, 73, of Myrtle Beach, SC and formerly of Schenectady, NY, passed away peacefully at her home on January 4, 2020, surrounded by her family, friends and her beloved dog, Mr. Bailey.

Marie was born July 8, 1946 in Cohoes, New York, daughter to the late Theresa and Leo Peat. In addition to her parents, she was also preceded in death by her brother, Ricky Peat.

In life, Marie was a member of the Moose Lodge. In her leisure time, she enjoyed creating arts and crafts, as well as knitting and crocheting. However, Marie was most happy spending time with her family and she loved being a mom, grandma and great-grandmother.

Left to cherish her memory are her two loving daughters Melissa and Beth-Anne, her granddaughter Ashley Marie, her great-grandson Weston, her sister Linda and brother-in-law Bob and her two brothers Jerry and Christopher.

Per Marie’s wishes, there will be no formal memorial service, however family and friends may visit the Burroughs Funeral Home website to send condolences and messages to her family. Her family wishes to express special thanks to her sister Linda and brother-in-law Robert Pierce for their love and support, the caregivers from Amedysis Hospice, Brooke, Missy and Diedre for their gentle care and to all of Marie’s loving friends and neighbors for all of their help and love.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests that a donation be made in Marie’s memory to Amedysis Hospice, 391 Seaboard St Unit 6, Myrtle Beach, SC 29577.
