Margaret A. Harkins, 81, of Murrells Inlet, SC passed away on Tuesday, May 07, 2019 at Embrace Hospice House. She was born March 22, 1938 in Brooklyn, NY daughter of the late William Brennan and Margaret Byrne.

Survivors include her loving husband of fifty seven years, Walter Harkins of Murrells Inlet; sons, Walter Harkins of Queens, NY, Paul Harkins of Massapequa, NY and Glenn Harkins of Murrells Inlet, SC; two grandchildren, Christopher and Thomas Harkins of Queens, NY; sisters, Mary Duckett of Ormand Beach, FL and Elizabeth Boyle of Riverhead, NY; and one brother, William Brennan of Nevado, CA.

Margaret was born and raised in Brooklyn. She then moved to West Hempstead, Long Island where she worked as a real estate agent before retiring and relocating to Murrells Inlet twenty years ago.

She enjoyed playing MahJong, enjoying Irish festivities and cultural events, listening to music and enjoying life.

A celebration of Margaret’s life will be announced when arrangements are finalized.

The family requests that memorial contributions be made to a charity of one’s choice in remembrance of Margaret.
