Malcolm Neal Wester, 87, resident of Surfside Beach, SC for over 50 years, passed away peacefully Monday August 26, 2019 at Embrace Hospice House of the Grand Strand in Myrtle Beach, South Carolina. He was born on November 3, 1931 in Goldsboro, North Carolina to the late Hubert & Beatrice Sue Neal Best Wester.
Malcolm served our country in the United States Air Force during the Korean War. Upon his honorable discharge, he went on to become a skilled electrical engineer & quality control engineer by trade. Following his well-deserved retirement, Malcolm loved to spend time with his family. He will be truly missed for his dedication as a husband, father, grandfather, uncle, brother and friend.
Left to cherish Malcolm’s memory are his beloved wife of over 60 years, Mrs. Beth Wester of Surfside Beach, SC; son, Bryan (Kathleen) Wester and their children, Daniel, Ethan & Emma; daughter, Wendy (Paul) Kubala and their children, Tanner, Connor, & Madison all of Surfside Beach, SC; sister, Reba Barnes of Goldsboro, NC as well as numerous cousins, nieces, nephews; a large, loving, extended family & many supportive friends and neighbors.
The family wishes to acknowledge with heartfelt appreciation the kind words of comfort and compassion shown to them by the nurses and staff at Grand Strand Hospital, particularly the CVICU staff and Embrace Hospice House of the Grand Strand. May God bless you all.
A Celebration of Malcolm’s life will be held on Saturday August 31, 2019 at 11:00AM and the family will greet friends until 12:00PM at Burroughs Funeral Home, 3558 Old Kings Highway, Murrells Inlet, SC 29576.
