Leona M (Hupcik) Zawislak

Leona M. Zawislak, 85, passed away peacefully on Thursday March 21, 2019 at Grand Strand Regional Medical Center in Myrtle Beach, South Carolina. She was born on May 27, 1933 in Lafferty, Ohio to the late Emil Hupcik & Helen Marcus Hupcik.

To her family, she was, “Mimi;" to her friends, “Miss Lee.” A faithful woman with a heart of gold, Lee was strong in her beliefs. She was an active parishioner at St. Paul’s Waccamaw United Methodist Church in Pawleys Island, where she loved to volunteer, plan & coordinate the annual Peach Festival. Lee was very active in Women’s support groups in the Philadelphia and Pawleys Island areas. Above all else, Lee loved her family and will be truly missed.

Left to cherish Lee’s memory are her sons, Eugene Francis Zawislak (Diane) of Pawleys Island, SC, Gregory Joseph Zawislak (Donna) of Murrells Inlet, SC & Christopher John Zawislak (Lisa) of Murrells Inlet, SC; her beloved grandchildren, Jason Zawislak, Jennifer DeDore, John Zawislak, Gregory Zawislak, Jr., Justin Zawislak, Jaclyn Zawislak; seven great-grandchildren; her sisters, Emily Elwell & Marianne Taylert; as well as several nieces & nephews; a large, loving, extended family and many supportive friends and neighbors.

A Celebration of Lee’s life will be held on Saturday April 13, 2019 at 11:00AM at St. Paul’s Waccamaw United Methodist Church, 180 St. Paul’s Place, Pawleys Island, SC 29585.
