John J. Masterpole, 86, passed away peacefully on Friday September 13, 2019 at the Embrace Hospice House of the Grand Strand in Myrtle Beach, South Carolina. He was born on August 6, 1933 in Syracuse, New York to the late John & Jen (Guido) Masterpole.
John proudly served his country in the United States Navy. Upon his honorable discharge, he was able to enjoy time with his friends and family. A gentleman with a heart of gold and outgoing personality, John worked as a manager for many years at Walmart. Following his well-deserved retirement, John loved to play golf and watch Syracuse Basketball. He will be deeply missed by all who had the honor of getting to know him.
Left to cherish John’s memory are his beloved wife of 40 years, Mrs. Carol Masterpole of Conway, SC; children, Lynn Freeman of Utah, David Masterpole of New York, Steven Carragher (Barbara) of Kansas & Kelly Petrosino of Conway, SC; grandchildren, Anastasia, Sara, Andrew, Tiffany, Kyle, & Dan; great-grandchildren, Ryan, Ava, Jayden, Rylie, & Vinny; his sister, Mary Jane (Marty) Mather of Virginia; his beloved furbaby, Lucy; as well as several nieces, nephews & cousins; a large, loving, extended family and many supportive friends and neighbors.
A Celebration of John’s life will be held on Saturday September 28, 2019 at 12:00PM at Burroughs Funeral Home, 3558 Old Kings Highway, Murrells Inlet, SC 29576
