Joan M (Marsh) Boynton

Joan Marie Marsh Boynton passed away in her sleep on October 3, 2019. Joan was born November 9, 1937 in Jersey City, New Jersey to Marie and Joseph Slovak. She spent her younger life between Maine and California before raising her family in Stockton, California.

In addition to her husband, Rev Dana Boynton of Myrtle Beach, South Carolina, Joan is survived by two daughters, Katherine Marsh of Sun City, Arizona and Beth Cahill of Tigard, Oregon; one granddaughter Natalie Newgard of Tigard, Oregon; brother Robert and sisters Val, Bonnie and Anne. She is preceded by her husband of fifty years, Richard Marsh. 

Joan was an educator and administrator in the Stockton, California School District before retiring to Ocean Isle Beach, North Carolina in 1998. Joan then became a consultant for Harcourt Brace Publishing, selling educational materials and training teachers. 

All this said, it cannot express the heart of caring, compassion and love that lived within this faithful Christian woman. For some, accomplishment exceeds character, but for the best, like Joan, character exceeds even a very accomplished life.  

A Celebration of Joan's life will be held on Saturday October 12, 2019 at 1:00PM at the Church of the Resurrection, 8901 Hwy 17 Bypass, Surfside Beach, SC 29575
