James Wentzel Obituary

James J. Wentzel, 78, passed away peacefully Thursday July 18, 2019 at Embrace Hospice House of the Grand Strand in Myrtle Beach, South Carolina. He was born on September 26, 1940 in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania to the late Joseph & Frances Wentzel.

Along with his parents, Jim is preceded in passing by his granddaughter Cait Wentzel.

Jim was an outgoing man with a heart of gold. He treasured his family and time spent on the beach. In his free time, Jim loved to read, travel and watch sports, especially football. He also participated in several fantasy sports leagues. Jim will be deeply missed for his kind and caring demeanor.

Left to cherish Jim’s memory are his beloved wife, Maureen Jordan Wentzel of Myrtle Beach; children, Timothy Wentzel and Lisa Abrams of Myrtle Beach; Jamie Wentzel and Robin of Rowlett, TX; Joseph Wentzel and fiancé Georgiana Munoz of Mesa, AZ; granddaughter, Tori Wentzel of Rowlett, TX; one sister Frances Wentzel Wallo; as well as a large, loving, extended family and many supportive friends and neighbors.

The family wishes to acknowledge with heartfelt appreciation, the kindness, comfort and care extended to Jim and his family during this difficult time by Our Lady Star of the Sea Church & Embrace Hospice. May God bless you in every way.

A Celebration of Jim’s life will be held at 11:00 AM Thursday July 25, 2019 at Our Lady Star of the Sea, 1100 8th Ave. N, North Myrtle Beach, South Carolina 29582.
