James Grant

James Joseph Peter Grant, 73, passed away peacefully on Monday December 31, 2018 at Georgetown Memorial Hospital in Georgetown, South Carolina. He was born on November 20, 1945 in the Bronx, New York.

Along with his parents, Jimmy is preceded in passing by his former spouse and friend, Jenny M. Sudol and brother, Frankie Grant.

Jimmy loved walking on the beach and was a fantastic cook. In his free time, Jimmy enjoyed listening to music and watching old western & classic movies. He will be truly missed by all who had the honor of getting to know him.

Left to cherish Jimmy’s memory are former spouse, companion and friend of 29 years, Ms. Daisy Grant of Murrells Inlet, SC; his children, James Grant, Jr. of Charlotte, NC, Dr. Johnny Grant of Myrtle Beach, SC & Natasha Ryals and her husband, Jeremy of Murrells Inlet, SC; his adoring grandchildren, Michelle Ryals, Emma Ryals, Emma Bellamy, Sophie Grant & Sara Grant; brothers, Steven, Johnny, & Howard Grant; sisters, Gracie Fanzo, Cathy Stearns, & Nancy Hughes; several nieces and nephews; as well as a large, extended family and many supportive friends and neighbors.

A Celebration of Jimmy’s life will be held at Burroughs Funeral Home, 3558 Old Kings Highway, Murrells Inlet, SC 29576. The date and time will be announced when finalized.

At the request of the family, in lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made in Jimmy’s name to the Alzheimer’s Association, 225 N. Michigan Ave., Fl. 17, Chicago, IL 60601
