Elwood Brent Howland

Elwood Brent Howland, 38, passed away unexpectedly on Wednesday November 27, 2019 at his home in Murrells Inlet, South Carolina. He was born on March 27, 1981 in Fayetteville, North Carolina.

Brent had a personality and heart larger than life. He never met a stranger and would gladly offer the shirt from his back, to anyone in need. In his free time, Brent loved being on his boat and found peace being on or near the water. Above all else, Brent loved his family with his whole heart. His family and friends describe Brent as a gentle giant who was kind and loving. His selflessness and infectious laughter will be greatly missed by all who had the honor of getting to know him.

Left to cherish Brent’s memory are his adoring daughter, whom he was very proud of, Danielle Howland of Charlotte, NC; his loving parents, Gerald Jerome Howland, Jr. & Denise (Powell) Howland of Fayetteville, NC ; brother, Trip Howland of Surfside Beach, SC; sister, Rachael Howland of Fayetteville, NC; the mother of his daughter, Melanie Stone; as well as many supportive friends and neighbors.

A Celebration of Brent’s life will be held in Hope Mills, North Carolina Sunday December 8th  at 3 – 5 pm at Reeves Funeral Home.
