Ellen Elizabeth (Paretto) Nicolio

Ellen Elizabeth Nicolio, 91, of Garden City, S.C. and formerly of Williamsport, passed away with family by her side on Sunday, August 25, 2019 in South Carolina. Ellen was the wife of the late Augustine C Nicolio and together the couple shared 67 years of marriage with one another.

Born October 11, 1927 in Williamsport, she was the daughter of the late Charles and Mary (Casale) Paretto. Ellen was a graduate of Williamsport High School and attended the State Beauty School in Pennsylvania. She worked at three beauty salons in the local area.

Ellen was a member of the former Mater Dolorosa Church, the Christian Mothers Group, the Sons of Italy, and the Divine Providence Auxiliary.  She was a volunteer for both Bishop Neuman High School and Divine Providence Hospital.   She enjoyed playing cards, bowling, arts and crafts, and spending time with her grandchildren and great grandchildren. Ellen truly enjoyed life in general!

Surviving are her children, a daughter Ann (Steve) Hearton of Myrtle Beach, S.C.; a son, Frank (Dawn) Nicolio, of Surfside Beach, S.C.; three grandchildren, Stephen Hearton, Jr., Lindsay Nicolio-VanHaltern (Jamie), and Sean Nicolio (Amber); and three great grandchildren, Stephen Hearton, III.  Ellison Nicolio, and Chloe Nicolio-VanHaltern.

Ellen was preceded in death by her brother Albert Paretto, and sisters Tilly Mignano and Rosemary Gardner.

A funeral service to honor the life of Ellen will be held 10 a.m. Saturday, September 7, 2019 at Sanders Mortuary, 821 Diamond Street, Williamsport. Burial will follow in Resurrection Cemetery, Montoursville. A viewing will be held 6-8 p.m. Friday, September 6 at Sanders Mortuary.
