Eleanor Louise Fisher, 84, passed away peacefully with her loving family by her side on Friday June 28, 2019 at her home in Myrtle Beach, South Carolina. She was born on December 3, 1934 in Walton, New York to the late Bertis & Mary (Fuller) Sines.
Along with her parents, Eleanor is reunited in death with her beloved husband of 49 years, Mr. Thomas Fisher; grandson, Kyle Faulkner; her brothers, Roland, Harold & Bruce Sines; as well as her sister, Doris Frank.
Eleanor was a hardworking woman with a heart of gold. She loved working at the SUNY College of Oneonta, where the college kids loved, “Ellie.” In her free time, she loved to crochet and make things for her grandchildren. The dedicated grandmother she was, Eleanor always made sure to have chocolate chip cookies on hand. While she resided in New York, she loved to visit the Walton Fair and watch her sons and grandchildren in the Derby. Upon her relocation to Myrtle Beach, Eleanor loved the beach. When her husband Tom was alive, she loved listening to him play, while having a glass of wine, and sing their song, “Behind Closed Doors.” She also adored dancing to the Fisher Brother’s Music. Eleanor also loved George Strait, who she was going to “marry.” Above all else, Eleanor loved and cherished her family. She will be truly missed for the incredible mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, sister, aunt and friend she was.
Left to cherish Eleanor’s memory are her adoring children, Gary Fisher of Otego, NY, Tammy Gardepe (Brian Marble) of Myrtle Beach, Brenda MacDonald of Walton, NY, Timothy Fisher (Lori) of Davenport, NY & Brian Fisher of Oneonta, NY; her beloved grandchildren, Nicholas, Justin, Tia, Christopher, Kayla, Joshua, Tamara, Mitchell, Matthew, Jordyn, Korey, & Jacob; her great-grandchildren, McKenna, Nicholai, Adisyn, Grace, Brycen, Ryder, Camdyn and two more on the way; brothers, Lloyd & Earl Sines; as well as several nieces, nephews and a large, loving, extended family; and many supportive friends and neighbors.
At the request of the family, a Celebration of Eleanor’s life will be held privately in New York.
