Dorothy Jean Tarleton, or Dot to many, of Myrtle Beach, SC passed away Nov 11, 2019 at the age of 72. She was born in Dayton, OH on Nov 15, 1946 to the late Ernest and Margaret Brown.
In addition to her parents, Dot is preceded in death by her in-laws, James and June Tarleton and a sister-in-law.
Dot is survived by her husband of 51 years, James M Tarleton Jr. She is also survived by 3 loving daughters, Tina (Steve) Jennings, Kim (Mike) Hanks and Jackie (Mark) Turner; 3 siblings, Nancy Falcigno, Henry Brown and Douglas Brown; 5 wonderful grandkids, Kyle and Megan Jennings, Jake and Kelsey Hanks and Callie Turner who were the highlights of her life, along with numerous in-laws, cousins, nieces and nephews.
Over the years, Dot enjoyed cake decorating, crafting, sewing, boating, fishing and walks on the beach. She spent endless hours attending her grandkids’ sporting events and school activities. Before moving to Myrtle Beach, Miss Dot was a child care provider to an abundance of little angels who always held a special place in her heart. If you asked her family or friends, they would tell you that Dot was the most selfless, caring and absolutely fun loving person that they knew. Throughout her illness, Dot was the strongest person making sure that her husband, kids and grandkids didn’t feel the pain that she endured. The family would like to extend a special thanks to the Nagle family for their unconditional love and support through this difficult time.
A celebration of life will be held at FOP Lodge 24 located at 10285 Rosewick Rd, LaPlata, MD 20646 on Saturday, Nov. 23rd from 12:00 PM to 3:00 PM.
