Doris M Capps

Doris Marie Capps of Myrtle Beach, South Carolina passed away peacefully on Monday September 30, 2019. She was born in Louisville, Kentucky on December 22, 1938 to the late Herman and Rita Pierce.

Doris met, fell in love and married her late husband, Omer Waverly Capps of Myrtle Beach, South Carolina. They raised 4 children together while living in Charlestown, Indiana and then moving to Myrtle Beach in 1976.

Doris was a devout catholic. She was a member of St. Michael's Catholic Church. She led a life of faith, was an avid reader and was a talented quilter. Doris was a good friend, a loving sister and a devoted wife, mother and grandmother. Along with her parents, Doris was preceded in death by her loving husband, Omer Waverly Capps, her sons Omer Bradley Capps, Timothy Andrew Capps, and 8 siblings.

Those left to cherish her memory are her daughter Cynthia Marie (Tim) O'Neill and her son Kenneth Waverly (Leslie) Capps; 7 grandchildren, Amanda Fulford, Heather Capps, Kristen Walters, Sara Capps, Robert Capps, Christopher Capps, and Alyssa Capps; 8 great-grandchildren, Korbin, Stella, Hadley, Theo, Reed, Hazel, Archer and  Eleanor; as well as many ‘bonus’ grandchildren & great grandchildren; and her sisters, Pauline Oliver, Lena Paskovics, Viola Sanders, Debra Daniel and Janice Houk.

The family will greet friends on Wednesday October 2, 2019 from 6:00PM until 8:00PM at Burroughs Funeral Home, 3558 Old Kings Highway, Murrells Inlet, SC 29576. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Thursday October 3, 2019 at 10:00AM at St. Michael Catholic Church, 542 Cypress Ave. Garden City, SC 29576. Procession will lead to Hillcrest Cemetery, Hwy 544, Conway, SC for burial, immediately following the church service.
