Curtis Richard Steele, Jr., 80, of Surfside Beach, passed away peacefully, Saturday August 24,
2019 at Grand Strand Medical Center.
Born in Middletown, OH, Mr. Steele was the son of the late Curtis Richard Steele, Sr. and
Alta Mae Heflin. He was a proud Air Force veteran, who served from 1957 to 1961. He
retired in 2003 from Voice of America after serving our government for 17 years. Mr. Steele
was a member of the American Legion Post 178 as well as the 40/8 organization. He was an
avid bowler, loved playing Yahtzee and enjoyed a Budweiser occasionally. In addition to his
parents Mr. Steele is predeceased by his brother Marvin Stahley.
Survivors include his loving wife of 38 years, Linda L. Steele; daughter, Missy Sansabrino and
her husband Jimm, Beavercreek, OH; grandchildren, Enzo Sansabrino, Beavercreek, OH;
Brandon Riggins, Beavercreek, OH; Amanda Riggins, Kettering, OH; Jessica Wheeler and her
husband Brian, Dayton, OH; great grandson, Cameron Riggins, Kettering, OH; sisters, Lois
Roe, Evelyn Taylor and Judy Spencer all of Middletown, OH; brother, Larry Million, Trenton,
OH.
The family will receive friends 6:00 PM to 8:00 PM, Friday August 30, 2019 at Burroughs
Funeral Home in Murrells Inlet. A memorial service will be held at the American Legion Post
218 in Middletown, OH on Wednesday, September 4th at 2:30 PM.
