Captain David Edward Williams, 89, of Murrells Inlet, SC passed away on Wednesday, January 02, 2019 at the Medical University of South Carolina. He was born December 23, 1929 in Charlotte, NC, son of the late Emmett Edward Williams and Annie Irene Gates Williams.
In addition to his parents he is preceded in death by a son, David Bryan Williams; a brother, Donald Joe Williams; and a sister, Faye Williams.
Survivors include his loving wife, Emma Moore Williams “Miss. Jean” of Murrells Inlet; one son, Thomas Odell Williams and his wife Sherry of Murrells Inlet; three daughters; Donna Maria Williams of Indian land, SC, Autumn Lynn Rogers of Murrells Inlet and Rebecca Jean Beam and her husband Fred Stacey Beam of Lancaster, SC; one brother, Billy J. Williams and his wife Doris of Vance, SC; one sister, Sandra Ann Myers and her husband Donald of Indian Land, SC; eight grandchildren and ten great grandchildren.
David was a member of the American Legion. He served in the United States Army at the end of WWII and the beginning of the Korean War.
He was a Boat Captain in the Murrells Inlet area for many years.
A celebration of David’s life with military honors will be held 2:00PM Saturday, January 05, 2019 at Burroughs Funeral Home, 3558 Old Kings Hwy, Murrells Inlet, SC 29576 with Capt. Bubba officiating. The family will receive friends immediately following the service.
