Bertha "Dee" (Hutchison) Brown

Bertha Dee Brown, 76, passed away peacefully with her loving family by her side on Monday September 23, 2019 at her home in Myrtle Beach, South Carolina. She was born on November 11, 1942 in Sedalia, Missouri to the late Henry & Adella (West) Hutchison.

Along with her parents, Dee is reunited in death with her grandson, Holden O’Neal Brown-Cline.

Dee had an outgoing personality and a smile that could light up a room. She was a hardworking and dedicated wife, mother, grandmother, sister, aunt and friend. Dee was a proud military wife. Mr. Brown proudly served in the Air Force for over 23 years. She was a lifelong member of Mt. Herman Baptist Church in Missouri and upon her relocation to Myrtle Beach, was an active member at Socastee Baptist. She will be deeply missed.

Left to cherish and honor Dee’s memory are her beloved husband and best friend, J.B Brown of Myrtle Beach; their children, James Brown and his wife, Sonja of Myrtle Beach, D’Ann Ladd and her husband, Wyman also of Myrtle Beach & Brenda Tonkery and her husband, Gary of Bridgeport, WV; her adoring grandchildren, Sydney, Bethany, Skylar, Kaylee, Brittany, Cheyenne, & Clay; twelve great-grandchildren; beloved sister, Mary Alice Harmon of Kansas City, KS; several nieces, nephews and cousins; a large loving extended family and many supportive friends and neighbors.

A Celebration of Dee’s life will be held on Friday September 27, 2019 at 5:00PM at Burroughs Funeral Home, 3558 Old Kings Highway, Murrells Inlet, SC 29576. The family will greet friends at their residence, immediately following the service. A private graveside service will take place at Hillcrest Cemetery, Hwy 544, Conway, SC 29526 at the convenience of the family.
