Betty Lou Lee, 84, passed away peacefully with her loving family by her side on Saturday June 30, 2018 at Tidelands Waccamaw Community Hospital in Murrells Inlet, South Carolina. She was born on January 3, 1934 in Charleston, West Virginia to the late Harry Robert Myers, Sr. and Eula Virginia Cooper Myers.

Betty Lou dedicated her heart and soul to to her family. She was never seen without a smile on her face with her hair done to perfection. Betty enjoyed anything that sparkled and collected angel figurines. Ever the sentimentalist, she kept birthday cards, displayed numerous pictures of family and friends around her house. Betty also loved to entertain and could never cook a meal for just one person. She made it a point to always make her famous salsa, banana cream pie or her grandson’s favorite, chicken and dumplin’s, especially around the holidays. In her free time, Betty loved to be in her garden and never missed watching her beloved Dallas Cowboys and Ohio State Buckeyes. She recently moved to Surfside Beach, South Carolina from Midlothian, Virginia. She was proud to say she had been on over 20 cruises in her time.
Left to cherish Betty Lou’s memory are her children, Michael Allen Smark (Peg) of Columbus, Ohio, Diane Sue van Gumster of Surfside Beach, South Carolina, Danny Franklin Smark (Peggy) of Hilliard, Ohio, Toni Kay Fredricks (Mike) of Aylesford, Nova Scotia, Canada and Steven Lynn Smark (Margaret) of Sierra Vista, Arizona; her beloved grandchildren, Jason van Gumster (Heather) of Atlanta, Georgia, Byron van Gumster (Gloria) of Greenville, North Carolina, Joseph Billingham of Myrtle Beach, South Carolina, Christopher Billingham of Indiana, Jessica Billignham (Jeremy) of Aylesford, Nova Scotia, Canada, and Dana Smark of Houston, Texas; her adoring great-grandchildren, Ender, Zane, Luke (Morgan), Daniel, Riley, Natalie, Kenzie, Ryleigh, Sydney, Logan, Lexi and Abigail; her brother, Harry R. Celebrating the life of Betty Lou Lee
Thank you for signing Betty Lou Lee's Guestbook
You are my sunshine,
You will always be with me.
With every yellow rose I see.
I will miss my travel partner to Nova Scotia, Arizona, Ohio, and cruises.
Always and forever,
Never be another,
Even though we still had places to go and sales to shop,
you will still be with me.

What a great sister you were. I'll always remember the boxes full of gifts on my birthday and Christmas. I enjoyed unwrapping each one. The fruitcakes you made were the best. I love you and miss you so much!! Susie Q.
