Bruce N. Vannatta, 71, passed away peacefully with his loving family by his side on Saturday September 2, 2017 at his home in Myrtle Beach. He was born in Allentown, Pennsylvania on January 22, 1946 to the late Nelson and Martha Serfass Vannatta.
Along with his parents, Bruce is preceded in passing by his son, Kevin Vannatta.
An outdoorsman by nature, Bruce loved to hunt, golf, fish, archery, play horse shoes with friends, dance, sing, go bowling and just all around, have a good time. He proudly served his country in the United States Navy from 1966 until his honorable discharge in 1970.
Left to cherish Bruce’s memory is his beloved and adoring wife, Paulette Vannatta of Myrtle Beach; his step-sons, Eric Flamisch, & Mark Flamisch and his wife Lauryn both f PA; two grandsons, Mason & Mallan; one granddaughter, Logan and a new grand-baby on the way.
A Celebration of Bruce’s Life will be held on Thursday September 7, 2017 at 11:00 AM at Burroughs Funeral Home, 3558 Old Kings Highway, Murrells Inlet, SC 29576. The family will receive friends at 10:00 AM until the time of service.
At the request of the family, memorial contributions in Bruce’s name may be made to the American Cancer Society, www.cancer.org; or to Tidelands Hospice, 2591 N. Fraser St. Georgetown, SC 29440. A second celebration of Bruce’s life will be held at a later date in in Pennsylvania.
The Vannatta family would like to express their sincerest gratitude to all who have reached out with love, care, support and to those who have gone above and beyond with compassion and care.
