John Francis McHugh, 82, of Murrells Inlet, SC passed away peacefully, Saturday, July 08, 2017 at his residence. He was born November 14, 1934 in Philadelphia, PA, son of the late John and Margaret Conlin McHugh.
In addition to his parents he is preceded in death by a son, John McHugh.
Survivors include his loving wife Patricia of Murrells Inlet; five sons, Keith McHugh, Steven McHugh, Thomas McHugh, Brian Laird, and Kevin Laird; one daughter, Margaret Whitaker; a brother, Hugh McHugh; six grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.
John was a retired police officer from Burro Collingdale, PA police department. He served in the United States Army during the Korean Conflict. He loved to play golf and after moving to Murrells Inlet he worked for Caladonia Golf Course and many other golf courses along the beach.
Funeral services will be held at a later date.
The family requests memorials be made in John’s name to the American Cancer Society, P.O. Box 22478 Oklahoma City, OK 73123.

Pop you will be very sadly missed by so many of us for a very long time and Tommy is missing you but we know that you are not in pain anymore and that's what is the most important of it All.
