James Edward Todd, 77, passed away Monday July 3, 2017 surrounded by his loving family in Georgetown, SC. He was born in Lecompte, Louisiana on December 11, 1939 to the late Lt. Col. Lazarus H. and Ray Griffin Todd.
Along with his parents, Jim is preceded in death by his sister, Rae Panella and his brother, Robert Todd. Jim attended the University of Alabama and was an avid fan, Roll Tide!
Jim proudly served his country in the United States Army, completing two tours of duty. Later Jim moved to northern Virginia where he met his loving wife Sandy. Jim founded Todd construction company and had a successful career as owner and president.
Active in his community, Jim coached little league baseball and played fast pitch softball. Later they moved to Debordieu in Georgetown, SC where they lived happily for many years. He remained active in the community and served on the board of the Midway Fire Department. But Jim's true passion was his family. In his free time, Jim could be found on the golf course with his beloved wife and family, as well as his buddies at Debordieu Golf Club.
Left to cherish Jim’s memory is his wife of 46 years, Sandra K. Todd of Georgetown; their daughter, Dawn Turner and her husband Robert Turner of Raleigh, North Carolina; as well as nieces and nephews.
The Todd family wishes to specially thank their family and friends that have offered their love, care, support and prayers during this difficult time.
A Celebration of Jim’s Life will be held on Saturday July 8, 2017 at 1:00 PM at Duncan United Methodist Church, 901 Highmarket Street Georgetown, SC 29440 with a reception immediately following the service, Rev. Dr. Dora Gafford will be officiating.
