Nancy Kay Kelley LeMin, 55, of Murrells Inlet, passed away suddenly Wednesday, May 17, 2017 in Murrells Inlet. She was born March 5, 1962 in Bishopville, SC, daughter of Margaret Ann Farmer Atkins of Bishopville and the late Reuben Franklin Atkins.
In addition to her father, Nancy was preceded in death by her brother, Reuben “Darrell” Atkins and step-daughter, Susan Schaffer.
Formerly known as a small petite waitress at Cottonland, Nancy was always known to make someone else smile and laugh with her beautiful free spirit and sense of humor.
She excelled through High School at Ashwood High and enjoyed the many cherished memories with her younger sisters, Donna and Vickie and her late brother, Darrell. She became a hardworking, independent woman while working at Reeves Brothers until it closed. She decided then that she would fulfill her dream of becoming a nurse in her mid-30's while being the single mother of her two children. She graduated with honors at Central Carolina University to attain her LPN license. Her professors later told Frankie, her youngest son, that he would have a very difficult time trying to achieve what his mother accomplished as he attended the same classes ... He later dropped out.
She worked at McCoy Nursing Home for 9 years where she comforted the families of those she cared for and inspired her co-workers. After working at Karesh Wing for a few years, she checked off another item on the bucket list by packing up and moving to Murrells Inlet. She was currently working at NHC Nursing Facility and Beach Medicine.
She had hundreds of friends there, but none more special than Tracy, her fiancé of 6 years. They spent every day together and you could find them on any given weekend either at the House of Blues listening to Journey Tribute Band or Jackyl. They also enjoyed watching the beautiful motorcycles during Bike Week, looking for shark teeth and sea shells, crabbing, kayaking, and plundering through local antique shops. He was her “Hunny Bunny” and the love of her life as well as their two canine children, Saylor Jill and Captain Jack.
In addition to her mother, Margaret Atkins, she leaves to cherish her memory her sons, Justin Atkins of Bishopville and Frankie Kelley and wife, Angela of Camden; beloved fiancé, Tracy Banks of Conway; grandchildren, Carolina and Chandler Kelley; sisters, Donna Clyburn and husband, Freddie of Bishopville and Vickie Moniz and husband, Louis of Lugoff; step-children, Randy Kelley, Chad Kelley and wife, Diana, Jeremy Banks and wife, Julie, Josh Jones and Justin Banks and fiancée, Sharmaine; step-grandchildren, Lisa, Mae and Mary Priness; nieces and nephews: Kayla Davis and husband, Jacob, Alison Clyburn and husband, Will, Jacob Moniz, Maddie Moniz, Avery and Heyward.

I'm so so so sorry to see that this beautiful spirit has left us. Nancy was a light of hope around a very dark time. The picture here is exactly the way I picture her. I hear her voice and her laughter in my head as I have any time I've thought of her in the past and it makes me glad to have known her and sad to have lost her. I'm sorry for the loss that all of you must be feeling. Justin, I miss you man.

Sorry for the loss of your love one. John 5:28, 29 assures Jesus will restore life to those who has died. Revelation 21:3, 4 gives further assurance death will be swallowed up forever. This is a comforting thought knowing your loved one is in God's memory. Hope this brings comfort.
