Elizabeth Burns

A private service will be held for Elizabeth Burns who died peacefully at home. She is survived by her loving husband of seventy-six years, George Burns of North Myrtle Beach, South Carolina.

Among the many things that are good in life the most memorable come from family. In every family there is a constant. Our family was blessed with a constant light of faith, a constant generous wisdom, a constant purposeful discipline, and a constant example of enduring love. We knew her as Betty, Mom, and Mommom. She was a wife since 1941, a mother since 1947, a grandmother since 1973, a great-grandmother since 2005, and baptized follower of Christ since 1999. For a quarter of a century, she was a beacon that helped guide a family through the challenges and rewards of life with the right measure of grace and persistence. She is the perennial example of a good life now seen among the three generations she helped to raise.

Memorials may be made in memory of Elizabeth to the “Friends in Christ” Sunday school class at the First Baptist Church, 200 Hwy 17 South, North Myrtle Beach, SC 29582.

Funeral arrangements were entrusted to Burroughs Funeral Home. Online condolences may be sent to the family at www.burroughsfh.com.
