Obituary

Richard O. “Rich” Offenberg, 75, of Myrtle Beach, passed away peacefully at home on Tuesday, March 14, 2017 surrounded by his loving family and friends. He was born March 29, 1941 in Elyria, Ohio, son of the late Orwood Martin and Irene Jean Zellath Offenberg. He was predeceased by a sister, Sharon Capelety.

Rich was of the Methodist faith. He was a member of the Elks Lodge in Myrtle Beach and Murrells Inlet, as well as the American Legion in Murrells Inlet. He enjoyed time spent playing cards, golfing, going to dinner and traveling, especially on cruises. Most important to Rich was his beloved family and he will forever be remembered as a devoted husband, beloved father, grandfather, great-grandfather and loving brother.

He leaves to cherish his memory his wife of almost 37 years, Linda Offenberg; daughters, Debbie Knapp and husband, Dave of OH, Robin Offenberg and companion, Jeff of OH, Tracey Norton and husband, Joe of AZ, Rhonda Heyde and husband, Kevin of OH and Kelly Nilges and husband, Eric of OH; grandchildren, Shaun, Makenzie, Sarah, Kyle, Kaysy, Kaley, Alexis and Riley; great-grandchildren, Evan, Addison, Emerson and Greyson; brothers, Nyal Offenberg and wife, Sharon and John Offenberg and companion, Suzette; sister, Jody Stidham and husband Brian; and step-mother, Marilyn Offenberg.

A Celebration of Rich’s Life will be held on, Saturday April 15, 2017 at the Knights of Columbus Hall, 118 Kipling St. Elyria, Ohio, 44035 from 1:00 PM until 4:00 PM
