Raymond "Ray" Carl Brock

Raymond "Ray" Carl Brock, age 83, of Murrells Inlet, SC, passed away on March 20, 2024. He was born on June 27, 1940, in Sunsbury Township, Ohio and grew up in the small village of Beallsville, Ohio.

Raymond was a kind-hearted, fun-loving family man who was devoted to his faith and dedicated himself to providing for his loved ones and serving others. He served as an elder in the Church of Christ for 30 years. In addition to spending time with family, he enjoyed watching sunrises on the beach, singing praises to God, worshipping with his church family and reading The Bible every day. He lived a life of example in the hope that others would follow his path to knowing Jesus.

He graduated from Beallsville High School in 1958 and later earned an Architectural Drafting Degree from Chicago Technical College. Throughout his 42-year career, Raymond pursued a successful career as a Draftsman and District Sales Manager for Star Building Systems.

Raymond will be deeply missed by his loving wife, Grace Eileen (Ault) Brock; sister, Sharon Smith; children, Gary (Lisa) Brock, Pamela (Sterling) Lee, and Marcia (John) Harrison; grandchildren, Andrew (Nicole) Brock, Morgan (Patrick) Lee, Kristen (Wes) Lacewell, Rachel (Anton) Harrison, Jonathan Harrison, and Kaitlyn Harrison; great-granddaughter, Ivy Lacewell, and many other family members and friends. He was preceded in death by his father, Charlie Ensel Brock; mother, Mary Sophia Brock; and brothers, Paul and Larry Brock.

A memorial service to honor and celebrate Raymond's life will be held on Saturday, April 20, 2024, at 1:00 PM, at the Grand Strand Church of Christ at 2212, Glenns Bay Road, Surfside Beach, SC 29575. The family will receive friends at 12:00 PM at the church, prior to the service. In lieu of flowers,  contributions in his memory can be made to the Grand Strand Church of Christ or Churches of Christ Disaster Relief Effort at www.disasterreliefeffort.org.

The funeral arrangements are being handled by Burroughs Funeral Home in Murrells Inlet, SC.
