Elizabeth Lynn Schoen (“Lindy”), 64 of North Litchfield, SC passed away peacefully on April 21, 2024 from ALS complications.

Lindy was born on June 8, 1959 to Harry and Margaret Schoen in Chapel Hill, NC.

After Lindy graduated from Cambridge Academy in Greenwood, SC she went to major in  business at the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill. After graduating UNC in 1981, she then received a Master’s in International Finance from the University of South Carolina in 1984.

After graduation, Lindy joined the Management Associate Program at the First National Bank of Atlanta which later became part of Wachovia Bank.  After 22 years at Wachovia, Lindy moved to Regions Bank in the newly established Regions Business Capital Division.  Lindy retired from Regions in 2021. Lindy’s long and successful banking career included positions in both credit management and lending for divisions ranging from asset based lending to municipal finance.  Lindy was known within the organization for her dedication, integrity and smarts.  She was an exceptional people person.  These hallmark traits resulted not only in a rewarding career but also lifelong friendships with her colleagues and clients. 

In May of 2021, Lindy was diagnosed with ALS.  Lindy then retired and moved to North Litchfield to live with her brother and sister-in-law.  Lindy battled the disease each day with a smile on her face.  She was grateful for ALL her friends and family that visited and phoned her on a constant basis.  Lindy was especially grateful to Lucia Nkongho, Melissa Gause and Mary Pettway who helped with her daily activities.

Lindy was predeceased by her mother Margaret Tucker Schoen, her nephew William C. Schoen, Jr. and her grandparents.  She is survived by her father Harry F. Schoen (Peggy) of Spartanburg, SC, her brother William (Bill) C. Schoen (Tracie) of North Litchfield, her niece Dr. Allison Hepfner (Craig) of Spartanburg, SC, her great niece Emmy Hepfner and great nephew Tripp Hepfner of Spartanburg, SC who she truly and dearly adored!

Lindy was an exceptional person and friend. Lindy was a true force of nature that we will miss dearly.  A celebration of life be held in Atlanta, GA (her ”home”) at a future date. In lieu of flowers, Lindy requested donations be made to:
